HVAC Brands We Service | Aegis Heating and Air, Utah

HVAC Brands We Service and Install

We’re a brand-agnostic HVAC contractor — meaning we don’t sell whatever pays the highest manufacturer incentive that quarter. We recommend equipment based on three things: how it fits your home’s actual load calculation, your budget, and how well that brand’s parts will be available in the Salt Lake market five and ten years from now. Some brands are easier to service in this valley because their distribution is stronger here; others have longer parts lead times that affect turnaround when something fails. We factor all of it in.

Below is what we install, what we service, and what we recommend for specific situations. If you don’t see your brand listed and you’re not sure whether we can help, call (385) 250-0687. We service most major HVAC brands even when we don’t actively install them.

Primary Brands We Install

These are the brands we actively install across Salt Lake County. We carry factory training on each, register manufacturer warranties on your behalf, and maintain stocked parts on our service trucks for common repairs.

Trane

Owner Patrick Dugger is a Trane Comfort Specialist — Trane’s highest dealer designation, awarded to dealers meeting strict customer satisfaction, training, and warranty performance standards. Lead installer Travis Hollings has factory installation training on Trane’s full residential lineup. Trane equipment runs through most of our higher-end residential installs because the build quality, parts availability in the Salt Lake market, and warranty performance are consistently strong.

  • Common installs: XV20i variable-speed condenser, XL18i two-stage condenser, S9V2 and XC95M variable-speed furnaces
  • Warranty: Up to 10-year limited parts warranty on registered residential equipment; extended warranty options available
  • Best for: Customers prioritizing build quality and long-term parts availability

Carrier

Service technician Dani Alvarez holds factory training on Carrier residential equipment. Carrier and Bryant share a parent company (Carrier Global Corporation) and substantial parts compatibility, which makes service across both brands efficient. Carrier’s Infinity line is particularly popular on full-system replacements in older Salt Lake City and Sugar House homes where venting modifications are part of the install scope.

  • Common installs: Infinity 19VS variable-speed condenser, Infinity 98 modulating furnace, Performance 96 two-stage furnace
  • Warranty: Up to 10-year parts warranty on registered residential equipment
  • Best for: Retrofits in older homes requiring modulating equipment or smaller-footprint cabinets

Lennox

Lead installer Travis Hollings holds Lennox factory installation training. Lennox’s high-end Signature Collection (SLP99V variable-speed furnace, XC25 variable-capacity condenser) carries the highest published efficiency ratings in the residential market. We install Lennox most often when a customer’s primary driver is maximum efficiency or premium variable-capacity operation.

  • Common installs: SLP99V variable-speed furnace (up to 99% AFUE), XC25 variable-capacity condenser (up to 26 SEER2), EL296V two-stage furnace
  • Warranty: Up to 10-year parts warranty on registered residential equipment; extended labor warranty options
  • Best for: Maximum efficiency installs, customers with strong incentive to capture Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart and federal 25C tax credit benefits

Mitsubishi Electric

Owner Patrick Dugger is a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor, Mitsubishi’s top-tier dealer status, which authorizes installation of the full Mitsubishi product line and includes extended manufacturer warranty coverage on installations. Installer Cole Bennett holds Mitsubishi ductless install certification; service tech Jordan Whitmer holds Mitsubishi ductless service certification. We’re the go-to for ductless mini-split work in the valley, particularly in historic Salt Lake City homes where running ductwork isn’t practical and in additions, finished basements, and garage offices.

  • Common installs: MUZ-FH wall-mount heads, MLZ ceiling cassettes, multi-zone outdoor units, Hyper-Heat cold-climate heat pumps (rated for full capacity at -13°F)
  • Warranty: 12-year parts warranty on registered Diamond Contractor installs (extended from standard 10-year coverage)
  • Best for: Ductless work, additions, dual-fuel pairings, homes without existing ductwork, historic homes

Daikin

Daikin Aurora cold-climate ductless systems perform exceptionally well in Salt Lake’s winter conditions, including during inversions when temperatures stay sub-freezing for weeks. We install Daikin on ductless multi-zone projects where the customer is comparing across manufacturers or where specific Daikin equipment fits the project better than Mitsubishi.

  • Common installs: Aurora ductless multi-zone systems, FTXS wall-mount heads, cold-climate variable-speed heat pumps
  • Warranty: Up to 12-year parts warranty on registered residential equipment
  • Best for: Ductless work, cold-climate heat pump installations, multi-zone configurations

Bryant

Service tech Dani Alvarez holds Bryant factory training. Bryant equipment shares engineering and substantial parts compatibility with Carrier, which makes parts availability strong locally. Bryant typically positions in the same tier as Carrier at a slightly lower price point.

  • Common installs: Evolution Extreme variable-capacity condensers, Evolution 90 two-stage furnaces, Preferred and Legacy line residential equipment
  • Warranty: Up to 10-year parts warranty on registered residential equipment
  • Best for: Carrier-level quality at a marginally lower install cost

Goodman

Installer Cole Bennett holds Goodman factory training. Goodman is part of the Daikin Group and produces the best price-to-performance value in the residential market. We install Goodman most often when the budget is the primary driver and the customer wants reliable equipment without paying for premium-tier variable-capacity features.

  • Common installs: GMVC96 two-stage variable-speed furnace, GSXC18 two-stage condenser, GSZC18 two-stage heat pump
  • Warranty: 10-year parts warranty on registered residential equipment; lifetime heat exchanger warranty on select furnace models
  • Best for: Budget-conscious full system replacements, rental properties, customers who don’t need variable-capacity premium features

Rheem

Installer Cole Bennett holds Rheem factory training. Rheem produces solid mid-tier equipment with strong parts availability and competitive pricing. Particularly common in our installs on heat pump and dual-fuel projects.

  • Common installs: Prestige Series two-stage condensers and heat pumps, Classic Plus furnaces
  • Warranty: Up to 10-year parts warranty on registered residential equipment
  • Best for: Mid-tier installs, heat pump and dual-fuel projects with good price-to-feature value

Other Brands We Service

Beyond the brands we actively install, we service equipment from most major HVAC manufacturers. If you have an existing system from one of these brands and need diagnostic, repair, or maintenance service, we can help:

  • American Standard — engineering-shared with Trane; same parts on many components
  • York — solid mid-tier equipment, good parts availability in the Salt Lake market
  • Coleman — engineering-shared with York under the same parent company
  • Heil, Tempstar, Comfortmaker — all manufactured by ICP (International Comfort Products), strong parts compatibility
  • Amana — engineering-shared with Goodman under the Daikin Group
  • Ruud — engineering-shared with Rheem; parts cross-compatible
  • Payne — Carrier Global’s budget line, Carrier parts compatible
  • Maytag, Frigidaire (HVAC) — manufactured by Nortek, serviceable but slower parts lead times in our market
  • Older Trane XL, Lennox Elite, Carrier Performance, and similar legacy residential equipment — we maintain familiarity with older lineups still common in Salt Lake County homes

For ductless systems, we service:

  • Mitsubishi Electric (primary install brand)
  • Daikin (primary install brand)
  • Fujitsu — common in earlier ductless installs in this market
  • LG
  • Samsung
  • Gree, Senville, MRCOOL, and similar value-brand ductless systems — parts availability varies; we’ll assess before committing to a repair

Brands We Generally Don’t Recommend for New Installs

We’re honest about brands we’d recommend a customer avoid for new installation, even though we’ll service them when they’re already in place. Reasons vary — slow parts lead times in our market, frequent reliability complaints we see firsthand, weak warranty responsiveness, or premium pricing without corresponding build quality.

If you’ve been quoted equipment from a manufacturer we’d recommend against, we’re happy to give you an honest second opinion — call (385) 250-0687 and tell us what you’re looking at. The answer isn’t always “go with us instead.” Sometimes the answer is “go with that quote, the equipment is fine, the price is reasonable” — and we’ll tell you that. Reputation in this valley travels.

How We Choose Equipment for Your Home

The right brand for your home depends on several factors — not on a sales rep’s quota. When we quote a new system, we walk through:

  • Your home’s Manual J load calculation — different brands have different equipment sizing options, and some brands have better small-tonnage or large-tonnage equipment than others
  • Your budget tier — premium (Trane, Lennox high-end, Mitsubishi Diamond), mid-tier (Carrier, Bryant, Rheem, Trane standard), value (Goodman, Amana)
  • Your priorities — maximum efficiency for utility bills, lowest upfront cost, longest warranty, quietest operation, premium variable-capacity, dual-fuel flexibility
  • Existing equipment compatibility — if you’re keeping a furnace and replacing only the AC, refrigerant type, lineset diameter, and metering device compatibility matter
  • Parts availability in the Salt Lake market — some brands have multi-day lead times on parts; others are next-day or same-day. This affects how quickly we can restore service if something fails in year 5 or 7.
  • Manufacturer rebate and warranty programs currently running — these change quarterly; we factor current offers into the comparison

You get two or three quoted options on most full-system replacements — typically a value-tier, a mid-tier, and a premium-tier choice — so you can see the tradeoffs side by side. The decision is yours, not ours.

Manufacturer Warranty Registration

We register every manufacturer warranty on your behalf within one week of installation. Most warranties require registration within 60 to 90 days of installation to receive the full term. Without registration, warranties default to a shorter base period — typically 5 years instead of 10. Registration is a step many contractors skip, leaving customers with reduced warranty coverage they don’t know about until a major part fails years later.

You’ll receive the manufacturer’s registration confirmation by email after we file. Keep it with your home records — it’s the document the manufacturer references when a warranty claim is filed years down the line.

See our warranty page for full details on coverage terms, what’s covered, what isn’t, and how to file a claim.

Parts Stocking and Service Truck Inventory

Our service trucks carry common replacement parts for the primary brands we install — capacitors and contactors, blower motors and inducer motors for major lineups, igniters and flame sensors, condensate pumps, common control boards, and refrigerant for R-410A and (where available) R-454B systems. Stocked parts let us complete most repairs on the first visit rather than scheduling a return after parts ordering.

For specialty parts and parts on systems from brands we don’t primary-install, lead times typically run 1–3 business days through our supply houses in the Salt Lake area. Older equipment from discontinued lineups can take longer; we’ll always quote parts availability before committing to a repair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service HVAC brands you don’t install?
Yes. We service most major HVAC brands — including American Standard, York, Coleman, Heil, Tempstar, Comfortmaker, Amana, Ruud, Payne, Maytag, and Frigidaire HVAC equipment — even when we don’t actively install them. For ductless systems, we service Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu, LG, Samsung, and most major brands. Call (385) 250-0687 with your equipment’s brand and model; we’ll confirm we can service it before scheduling.
What’s the best HVAC brand to install in Salt Lake County?
There’s no single “best” brand for every situation. For premium tier with strong parts availability in our market, Trane and Lennox are typically the answer. For mid-tier value, Carrier and Bryant. For budget-conscious installs, Goodman. For ductless work, Mitsubishi and Daikin. The right choice depends on your home’s load, your budget, your efficiency priorities, and whether you’re matching existing equipment. We walk through the comparison at your in-home estimate.
Are you a Trane dealer? Lennox dealer? Carrier dealer?
Patrick Dugger is a Trane Comfort Specialist and a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor — the top dealer designations for each manufacturer. We’re also factory-trained on Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Bryant, and Daikin equipment. We’re brand-agnostic, meaning we recommend equipment based on what fits your home and budget, not on which manufacturer is paying the highest dealer incentive that quarter.
Will the manufacturer warranty still be valid if Aegis installs the equipment?
Yes. We are factory-trained and licensed by the State of Utah (S350 Mechanical Contractor #11234567-5501), which meets every major manufacturer’s professional installation requirement. We also register every warranty within the manufacturer’s required window — typically 60 to 90 days post-installation — to ensure you receive the full warranty term rather than the reduced base coverage that applies to unregistered equipment.
Can you service an HVAC system installed by another contractor?
Yes. We regularly take over service on systems installed by other contractors. The first visit usually includes a thorough diagnostic — static pressure, refrigerant charge verification, combustion analysis on gas equipment — to establish a baseline of the system’s current condition. From there we handle ongoing service and repair like any other customer. We’ll honor the manufacturer warranty (and assist with claims) regardless of who installed the equipment.
What if my equipment is from a brand you don’t install but you do service — can you still get warranty parts?
Usually yes. As a licensed HVAC contractor, we have supplier relationships across the major brands and can typically source warranty parts even on brands we don’t primary-install. Lead times may be slightly longer than on our primary brands. We’ll quote parts availability before committing to a repair so there are no surprises.
How do I find out what brand and model my existing HVAC system is?
Look for the data plate on the equipment — usually a metal label on the side of the air handler, the outdoor condenser, or the front panel of the furnace. The plate shows manufacturer, model number, serial number, refrigerant type, and rated capacity. If you can’t find it or can’t read it, send us a photo via email or text and we’ll identify the equipment for you.
